Afterschool Enrichment

WDS Afterschool Enrichment features a wide range of options for kids and adults of all ages and interests. With a staff culled from the worlds of art, literature, naturalism, athletics, science, and several physical disciplines, our ASE programs offer excellent opportunities for students to learn, grow, strengthen, and have fun!

To be admitted to class(es), tuition must be paid in full at time of registration via e-check only. 

Classes may be dropped after the first scheduled class, with full refund. Tuition is not refundable after second class.

Woodstock Day School Afterschool Enrichment Code of Conduct Right of Refusal:
The Woodstock Day School Afterschool Enrichment Program reserves the right to refuse any registration and to cancel any child’s class registration for disruptive or inappropriate behavior, without refund.  If a child is disruptive in an ASE class, the child will be removed to the Aftercare Program.  The parent(s) will be notified to pick up child immediately and Aftercare fees will be applied.

MONDAYS

INTRO TO CEILI DANCING

A Ceili is a traditional Irish group dance which is danced to reels or jigs. No prior dance experience is necessary.  Just come ready to have fun and learn something new!

Please bring a water bottle and closed toe shoes.

THE WILDLIFE AMBASSADORS PROGRAM: BE A WILD CHILD!

An exciting and creative class in which students learn about wildlife and habitats around the world.  Through art projects, wilderness immersion, nature games, and exploration, kids will develop an appreciation for all things wild and gain knowledge about conservation.

*Students will also have the opportunity to be the first to try out new National Geographic curriculum!

BEGINNER FLAMENCO

Develop physical awareness and mindfulness through traditional archery. The program follows a consistent structure that allows for both intensive study of archery form and function, as well as dynamic games, visual arts integration and fun that can only be had with a bow in your hand. Program runs both indoors and outdoors, rain or shine.

Equipment is provided.

BREATH, STRETCH AND ROAR!

Join Leah and Toni for Yoga and Mindfulness for kids.  Using music, breathing exercises and yoga poses we will work our minds and bodies creating warmth and energy as well as calm and focus.  Our little yogis will fly like butterflies, roar like dragons, go on imaginary adventures and more as they experience the playfulness and challenges of yoga. Children will do balancing poses to help us explore focus and perseverance and guided meditations to help us strengthen our imagination and comprehension.

Please join us as we ease you into the joy, fun, and good exercise of traditional Guinea dance. Accompanied by live drums, we’ll stretch and warm up before delving into the dances. Designed to break it down, answer questions, repeat until it’s comfortable, this class might be a pathway into our more rigorous classes in Kingston or might be just the pace you like.

Wear loose clothing and barefeet or non-street shoes. Expect to enjoy yourself while you get a body and mind workout!

Adding foam swordplay to the schoolyard classic, our version of Capture The Flag is much more active, dynamic and team-oriented than its tag-based counterpart. In one of our CTF classes, students can expect to engage in a numerous active games that push the boundaries between competitive and cooperative interaction, learning to act out high-intensity physical play safely and responsibly. The evolving complexity of our games will force them to build both leadership and team-building skills.

WOODLAND FAIRY FUN

CERAMICS FOR ADULTS

This class is for all ability levels from novice to more expert. Hand building and throwing will be taught along with glazing techniques.
