Ages 7-13
Put on your dancing shoes and snap into song with this three-week Broadway music extravaganza! Become a character from anywhere in the world, learn many fabulous Broadway show tunes, choreograph, paint, write your own lines, create your costume and take your place on the stage! Lights, camera, action….you’re “Broad-way Bound!” In this action packed three-week specialty camp, campers will collaboratively write, rehearse and perform an original Broadway musical. This camp is ideal for kids who love to sing, be self-expressive and creative. No experience in musical theater necessary, just a positive attitude, lots of energy and a smile! Other activities include: theater games, crafts, swimming and outdoor play.

About the instructor:
Cara Calabrese is a pianist, music educator, and children’s song-writer who has been inspiring kids to find joy and creative self-expression through music for over twenty years. Trained as a classical pianist at the Eastman School of Music and CU Boulder, Cara went on to complete a Masters in Arts Education as a Mellon Fellow at Columbia University, Teacher’s College. Cara has taught in many places including NYC, Woodstock, Berlin, Germany and most recently her home-town of Buffalo, NY, where she returned to raise her son with family and teach music in a vibrant inner-city school. Cara founded “Music Mania” eleven years ago and is looking forward to returning to the Hudson Valley this summer as part of the WDS Summer Adventure program.
