Camp Staff

Our Summer Adventure staff is made up of supportive, experienced, and creative teachers and caregivers. A teacher or a teacher-in-training who is in turn supported by an Assistant Counselor as well as CITs heads most groups up.

With the goals of inclusion, tolerance, and kindness among campers as well as encouraging risk-taking toward trying new things, a Summer Adventure experience led by these exemplary leaders offers the chance for a child to grow in so many ways. The result: a camper who, through fun and play, has gained confidence, pride, and social graces!

Meet the administrative staff

Pam Lord Camara
Pam Lord Camara has been a Preschool teacher at WDS since 1988 and loves the spontaneity and wonder of being surrounded by curious children discovering and reflecting on the world around them. Working with her husband Mimo Camara as a drum/dance instructor at the school’s summer program since 2000, she was asked to head up the program in 2005. Since then, she has created Summer Adventure with the mission of making summertime just what it was for her as a child: an unhurried, playful, outside time to be with good friends. Along with directing the program, Pam teaches Guinea drum and dance to all Summer Adventurers, sharing her passion for the lively arts of this culture.

Pam gained her BA in Human Ecology from College of the Atlantic in Maine as well her Montessori Certification for ages 0-6 from the St Nicholas Institute in London. Despite these degrees, children have been her best teachers!
