TABLETOP GAME CLUB (ages 12 and up)
Join Ian Brody (father of Freya in 1st Grade) and the Tabletop Game club Mondays at 3:15! Tabletop gaming is a lifelong social hobby – people look at each other and not a video screen. At the same time, tabletop gaming is educational – statistics, historical analysis, systems dynamics, and creative writing are just a few skills exercised. At the first meeting we’ll talk about the different types of Tabletop games (Role playing, board games, card games) and establish a schedule to suit everyone. The club will also be playtesting new releases from Griggling Games, Inc., a local game publisher.
We may try to schedule some game days for younger audiences, but most of the games will require a fair amount of reading – many of the games are marketed to ages 12+. Well-behaved faculty and parents are welcome! For information contact Ian: email@example.com
WDS CHESS CLUB
The WDS Chess Team will be starting up soon! We will be meeting weekly after school for our third year of chess at the WDS. The program is run by parent volunteers and has been a great success. The students have a lot of fun learning from each other in a relaxed, non competitive environment on campus. Some of the students have elected to participate in chess tournaments against local schools. This is a great opportunity to challenge themselves, make new friends and many of our students have taken home trophies and medals. If your child is interested in being a part of our chess club and/or if you would like to volunteer, please contact Janis at firstname.lastname@example.org
