Curriculum
GRADUATION REQUIREMENTS
Students in the 7th through 12th grade Upper School must
fulfill the following minimum graduation requirements, and
may elect to take more courses:
- Five years of English, History, Science, and Math. A math
proficiency exam is given after the fourth year.
- Four years or more of a foreign language. A proficiency
exam is given.
- Participation in art for at least 5 years, and in physical
education every year.
- Successful completion of the Senior Program, including
the multidisciplinary Senior Seminar and Senior Project
courses, and an internship.
COLLEGE
PREPARATION
In addition to individualized SAT and SAT II preparation,
some SAT/PSAT preparation is done in class. Independent preparation
for Advanced Placement exams (Biology, English, US History,
European History, and Spanish) is available for interested
students. Each student receives guidance, encouragement, and
help with the process of preparing essays and choosing and
applying to colleges. Letters of recommendation are sent to
colleges by teachers who know the students well and can enthusiastically
represent their academic and personal strengths.
