GRADUATION REQUIREMENTS
Students in the 7th through 12th grade Upper School must fulfill the following minimum graduation requirements, and may elect to take more courses:

  • Five years of English, History, Science, and Math. A math proficiency exam is given after the fourth year.
  • Four years or more of a foreign language. A proficiency exam is given.
  • Participation in art for at least 5 years, and in physical education every year.
  • Successful completion of the Senior Program, including the multidisciplinary Senior Seminar and Senior Project courses, and an internship.

COLLEGE PREPARATION
In addition to individualized SAT and SAT II preparation, some SAT/PSAT preparation is done in class. Independent preparation for Advanced Placement exams (Biology, English, US History, European History, and Spanish) is available for interested students. Each student receives guidance, encouragement, and help with the process of preparing essays and choosing and applying to colleges. Letters of recommendation are sent to colleges by teachers who know the students well and can enthusiastically represent their academic and personal strengths.
